Omron Electronic Components has added to its range of latching power relays with devices that have interfaces for electric vehicle (EV) charge stations, PV inverters and lighting control.

Omron Electronic Components has added to its range of latching power relays with devices that have interfaces for electric vehicle (EV) charge stations, PV inverters and lighting control.

The G9TA range of power latching relays are designed for applications up to 60A (at 250Vac) maximum switching current. These G9TA relays feature 2mΩ contact resistance, 6kV impulse withstand voltage, 250Vac max switching voltage, and 12Vdc coil voltage.

The 120A (276Vac, or 100A with PF=0.5 inductive load) G9TB AC relay is designed with high over-current capability and conforms to IEC62055-31 UC3 standards. The G9TB relays have a silver-alloy contact material, 0.4mΩ contact resistance, 276Vac maximum switching voltage, and -40°C to 85°C operating temperature range.

G9TB latching relays are 37.5 x 43.5 x 22.5mm, while the lower current G9TA types are 37.5 x 33 x 18mm.

Omron G9TA is now available with M5 securing screw and welding (solder lug) terminals. G9TB with its larger power capacity is now available with M8 securing screw and welding (solder lug) terminals.

Steve Drumm, business development manager at Omron writes:

“Our high power latching AC relays are widely used in smart metering applications … with these new connectivity options, customers can apply their favourable characteristics in a host of new applications, which demand secure load connections so that the current flow path is optimised and self-heating is minimised.”
